How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place

Hi everyone!

I am studying dentistry and I believe that this career can contribute too much to the whole world.

The Dentistry career is mainly responsible for solving problems involving the teeth and their illnesses, but beyond that it is often responsible for restoring security to people, increasing their self-esteem with an aesthetic improvement of their smile. It can restore people's trust, whether they are women, men or children.

The truth is still not clear in what specialty I see myself, but I do know that I would like to contribute in helping people who perhaps do not have the necessary resources to access all the services that dentistry can provide.

Dentistry contributes to a small extent in the recycling of the world, as dentists through sterilization we can reuse the material that we use in each patient, however, I believe that solutions should be found for the use of masks and gloves. It also contributes to the improvement of health in the world, since many diseases of the oral cavity are related to the entire body, this would mean an improvement in the quality of life.

Hi everyone Personally, I would like to travel to the past and future. First I would like to go to the future, about 200 years in the future to see the development of the Earth, what conditions it is in at that time and if part of the technology was able to reduce climate change or if the Earth has already died and there is only one small size of the world population due to this growth that is already showing climate change and all its consequences.  second, I would love to go back in time and meet the dinosaurs and what they were like hundreds of years ago, how they really lived and if the discoveries that were made after them match the reality they lived. Post 8 A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

The topic that I liked the most this semester corresponds to the branch of Psychosocial and Anthropological Bases of Health. In the classes on this topic we see everything related to the psychological, social and anthropological in Dentistry. We see how the treatment of the patient should be, how we should be as dentists, the types of patients that can exist that are called difficult patients, who can be paranoid, histrionic, narcissistic, talkative, aggressive, silent, etc. We have also learned how professional-patient communication should be and they have taught us the communication skills that we must possess. Here they teach us how to establish a relationship with the patient that will allow me to educate my patient, that he complies more with the treatments and the most important thing is that he gives me enough information that allows me to satisfy his needs. A Photograph and Its Story

 This photograph was taken in the summer of 2020 in Pichidangui and in it is my grandfather. This photo is important to me as it was taken by me and my grandfather passed away in March 2021 and it is one of the few photos I have of him on my cell phone and it is also at the house on the beach that he loved to go to. This photo was taken when my cell phone camera was having problems, from one day to the next it stopped focusing so it did not allow me to take photos but for a moment, I don't know how, but I focused and I was able to take this photo. From that summer I have no more photos than this on my cell phone because they all went wrong and it became a very special photo for me.
